A Birmingham chartered surveyor has been invited to lead for a third year one of the most highly-regarded bodies for property professionals in England and Wales.
Brett Williams, who heads up flat and service charge management for Birmingham-based property consultants Curry & Partners, has been re-elected by his fellow property professionals as Chair of ARMA, the Association of Residential Managing Agents.
ARMA is the only professional body to focus exclusively on matters relating to the block management of residential property. Members are managing agents for blocks of flats and apartments, whose clients can include developers, investor landlords and resident management companies.
Commenting on his re-appointment, Brett Williams said: “It really is an honour for me to have the long-term backing of my peers during such testing economic times.
“The property sector is facing some very steep challenges and I have been given the time to see through some key changes to the way our sector is regulated, how its quality standards are measured and how issues are redressed.”
He added: “I shall also continue to promote public and professional awareness of ARMA and the work that the organisation carries out on many levels within the property industry.”
Brett Williams began his national involvement with ARMA eight years ago, when he was co-opted onto the technical committee. Previous professional roles include Chairman of the Junior Organisation of the RICS West Midlands region. He is also a fellow of the Institute of Residential Property Management.
Working in the West Midlands as a chartered surveyor since 1992, he joined Curry & Partners as a partner in April 2004.
